Wound Care

Val Verde Regional Medical Center's Rehabilitation Department provides care and education for patients with chronic, non-healing wounds—those that do not show any signs of improvement after four to six weeks.

Non-healing wounds are often associated with poor blood flow to an injury site and occur frequently among people with diabetes; those who may have had radiation therapy, trauma or other medical conditions; and people with pressure ulcers resulting from lack of movement.

Services are provided to inpatients and outpatients. A physician referral is required.
