The clinical laboratory at Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) is fully equipped with the very latest, state-of-the-art equipment and analyzers. Through continuous evaluation of new technology and procedures, the facility is able to provide a vast array of testing using the most up-to-date test methods available. Comprehensive laboratory testing is performed upon the written request of a licensed Texas provider. The laboratory's diagnostic capabilities include analysis in the following departments:
- Chemistry
- Hematology
- Urinalysis
- Coagulation
- Blood bank
- Microbiology
- Immunology/serology
- Special chemistry
- Therapeutic drug monitoring
Our medical technologists are registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) and/or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). These certification agencies provide ongoing testing and certification of personnel and administer continuing education and requirements for the annual registration and maintenance of credentials.
Outpatient collection sites are open Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the hospital and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the VVRMC Rural Health Clinic.
The Clinical Laboratory at VVRMC is fully accredited by the college of American Pathologists.
