Val Verde Regional Medical Center knows you want science-based, local information about COVID-19 and all the variants. We are committed to providing you with the most recent information possible so you can make informed decisions about your health.

Did you get your first dose of COVID-19 vaccine? Do not forget. You need 3 doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine for the best protection against COVID-19.

The best thing you can do is get vaccinated. Unvaccinated people make up over 85% of the hospitalized people in this current surge of the Delta variant of COVID-19. We understand the information can be confusing. While it is true you may still catch COVID-19 even though you are fully vaccinated, this is not unusual. It happens with the flu vaccines every year. The important thing to remember is this: If you are fully vaccinated and contract COVID-19, you are far less likely to get seriously ill and require hospitalization. It is EXTREMELY rare for a fully vaccinated person to become seriously ill. Please, call 830.282.6020 to schedule your free vaccination today.

It is also important to wear your mask in public to protect yourself and others, keep a 6-foot distance from anyone you don't know is vaccinated, and wash and sanitize your hands regularly. Together, we can keep COVID-19 at bay.

Bust the COVID-19 myths. Accurate vaccine information is critical and can help stop common myths and rumors. Will getting a COVID-19 vaccine cause me to test positive for COVID-19 on a viral test? Will a COVID-19 vaccine alter my DNA? Find these answers and more at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus.
