REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR EVALUATION AND NEGOTIATION SERVICES
OF ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD (EHR) SYSTEM
Val Verde Regional Medical Center is looking to replace its current Electronic Health Record (EHR). The organization has received demonstrations and proposals from Meditech and Cerner.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center is seeking to enter into a services contract with a professional I.T. firm or individual. The successful applicant will review and evaluate the proposals and complete the following:
- Insure they include all of the applications needed to support the hospital with clinical documentation as well as financial applications in coordination with Hospital Staff and stakeholders
- Assure that all needed software and hardware is included in each proposal.
- Negotiate the contract for the purchase of such a system
- Prepare a report with a recommendation to be presented to our Board of Trustees
The deadline for submission of three (3) copies of your response to this request for qualifications is 4:00 p.m., Date: May 15, 2018.

Please provide within your response a list of the past local clients, as well as specific experience selecting and negotiating contracts for the implementation of a new computer software system.

ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD
Val Verde Regional Medical Center is considering replacing its current Electronic Health Record system, Paragon. It has received demonstrations and proposals from Meditech and Cerner for their software.
The Board of Trustees is seeking a professional firm with knowledge of Information Technology to review the work done by staff, evaluate the proposals, make a recommendation to the Board, and negotiate the contracts. The Hospital will provide to the successful applicant the information already gathered from the various presentations and the proposals received. The successful applicant will review the proposals to insure they include all the peripheral software needed to run all the various applications successfully. Identify if additional hardware is needed for the implementation of the preferred EHR.
- Review work already done by hospital personnel
- Review proposals to insure they are all inclusive of clinical and financial applications to carry out the work of the organization.
- Insure that the proposals include any peripheral software needed for their applications.
- Evaluate proposals and negotiate the best deal for the organization.
- Submit a recommendation in writing to the Board of Trustees on the best package.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center reserves the right to negotiate with all individuals or firms that submit responses to this request for qualifications in accordance with the Texas Professional Services Procurement Act. The Medical Center reserves the right to reject any or all responses to this request.
