"The Last River" is a local band whose members include three young men born and raised in Del Rio. They formed in 2007 as teenagers and have played local venues ever since. The band members are Tacho Coronado (lease guitar and lead vocals), Nick Garza (bass and vocals) and Edward Hernandez (drums and percussion).

The band held a CD release party at the Paul Poag Theater and decided to donate the profits from the event to Val Verde Regional Medical Center's Hope Cancer Resource Room. "Thanks to their generous donation, we will be able to provide more resources to patients on their journey with cancer. On behalf of myself and the volunteers of the Resource Room, we would love to extend our most heartfelt gratitude. We want to make sure the community knows what amazing, caring people we have," said Cancer Navigator, Stacey Covarrubias.

As for "The Last River" they too have a message for the community:

We feel very blessed to be from a town that has been supporting our band since day one. We grew up around a lot of people doing what we love: playing music. Today, we are not those teenagers anymore; we are college students and professionals. We feel proud to have conquered one of our biggest dreams and are grateful to all those Del Rioans who have helped us along the way.
