Cancer resources available at VVRMC

The Mary L. Pierce Cancer Resource Room is a nonprofit organization within Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) to provide free support to the people of Del Rio and its closely neighboring communities.

The Resource Room can assist patients in a variety of ways, including:

  • Meeting with our cancer navigator to find an oncologist
  • Reviewing health information
  • Providing gas cards, food vouchers, lodging assistance or co-pay coverage
  • Offering supplies to counteract the aftereffects of treatment, such as wigs, prostheses, mastectomy bras or medical devices to alleviate limitations caused by treatment

If you are in need of assistance or know of someone in our community who is in need—regardless of income, reach out to Stacey Covarrubias, Cancer Navigator, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We are operating a little differently due to COVID-19 restrictions; however, Covarrubias will see patients via phone or in-person appointments to make sure their needs are met.

If you wish to donate to our wonderful program, please visit vvrmc.org/services/cancer-services or contact Covarrubias at 830-778-3852 or stacey.covarrubias@vvrmc.org.
