Volunteer Opportunities

If you are interested in making a difference and touching lives, then VVRMC is the perfect place for you to volunteer your time and showcase your talents. Our volunteers, like our staff, "Live to Deliver Healthcare our Community can Trust."

Auxiliary Volunteer Opportunities

The VVRMC Auxilary is an exceptional group of men and women who dedicate over 600 hours per month. Proceeds from the Auxiliary efforts are allocated to the hospital for purchasing equipment, and funding scholarships for youth pursuing medical careers. Auxiliary Volunteers donate their time in various capacities, including:

  • Volunteering as a merchant in "The Best Little Gift Shop in Del Rio."
  • Escorting patients and visitors throughout the facility.
  • Taking blood pressure for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Hosting various fundraising events throughout the year.

Volunteer Chaplains

Medicine tends to the physical needs of patients. VVRMC understands the importance of other needs. The chaplains strive to meet the spiritual needs of patients and their families. There are currently 15 volunteer chaplains from many different denominations who serve one week at a time on a rotating basis. These dedicated chaplains provide nondenominational support.

Administrative Volunteers
These volunteers work with our staff with various operational or marketing functions, such as compiling mailings, filing, preparing patient packets, etc.

Bereavement Volunteers
