Center for Improvement in Healthcare Quality
The quality department at Val Verde Regional Medical Center (VVRMC) exists to establish a continuous, systematic and interdisciplinary approach to improving safety and quality of care to the community we serve. Our goal is to develop, implement and maintain an effective, ongoing, organization-wide, data-driven quality assessment and performance improvement.
Organizations using CIHQ accreditation for deemed-status purposes must inform patients, or their surrogate decision maker, of the right to file complaints regarding quality of care concerns or safety issues to CIHQ. The patient/surrogate decision-maker is not required to notify the organization prior to filing the complaint.
Hospital Compare is a consumer-oriented website that provides information on how well hospitals provide recommended care to their patients. This information can help consumers make informed decisions about where to go for health care. Hospital Compare allows consumers to select multiple hospitals and directly compare performance measure information related to heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgery and other conditions. These results are organized by:
- General information.
- Survey of patients' experiences.
- Timely and effective care.
- Complications.
- Readmissions and deaths.
- Use of medical imaging.
- Payment and value of care.
