Val Verde Regional Medical Center provides care and education
for patients with chronic, nonhealing wounds, those that do not
show any signs of improvement after four to six weeks.
Services are provided to inpatients and outpatients. A physician referral is required.
Nonhealing wounds are often associated with poor blood flow to an injury site and occur frequently among people with diabetes or those who may have had radiation therapy, trauma or other medical conditions, or people with pressure ulcers resulting from lack of movement.
